the musician airat naryshkin (the very airat) is quite an unusual figure on moscow electronic scene. popular club-culture & music magazine ptiuch called airat >one of the godfathers of the russian electronic music<. he took part in the international album volume transmission (ambient), label worm interface (england),1999. airat with alex paterson (the orb) made an electronic performance in moscow (ketama cafe) last autumn.

this limited transparent yellow vinyl 12 inch takes the hip-hop inspired elements of >gangsta< even further with remixes from legends in the field, adrock (beastie boys) and cut chemist (jurassic 5, ozomatli and dj shadow collaborator). like all good old school records, the 12 inch is completed with not only the original but also with both the instrumental and a cappella versions of the track.

for the second remix sampler we have dosem from spain - every fan of electronic music will be aware of his recent productions on tronic or sino - finding the perfect balance of melodies and dancefloor-appeal once again! with his moody approach, nick curly (together with production partner gorge) from the now-famous mannheim area, pays respect to the melodious vibe of the original track delivering another highlight of the package. last but not least we have a remix by one of the most recent break new soil contributors: patrick siech, truly one of the producers of sweden s new school of techno, chose echelon and transformed the already massive original into something even bigger.

mr raoul k and baobab secret take the next step and put out new remixes of >le karantkatrieme peul<. prisme are a belgian duo (nicolas pepinster and yves theys) who started to produce their own material in 2010. they liked the title track so much that they remixed it and sent the result to mr raoul k who instantly fell in love with the melodic and laid back approach they took on it. this lush piece makes a perfect entry into a long night out, promising that every piece will fall into place. the other production crew featured on this release are the iklawa brothers (mzwandile nxasana and sandile magwaza) who run their own label in durban, south africa. they are big fans of mr raoul ks work and have been dropping his tunes in their sets on a regular basis. their remix is a dark, afrobeat driven tune that takes the listener on a long trip into a gloomy world full of surprising musical twists, dramatic changes of mood and impressing string sounds. the last remix is done by mr raoul k himself. he shows a new side of his musical skills. resulting in an epic track that seems to dance on tiptoes around a giant beast. one small step. hesitate. check carefully what happens. do not disturb. just watch in astonishment how it slowly awakes and stretches out to its full glory. a track that is full of hope, but reminds us to keep our feet to the ground to provide a solid stand.

deep purple: pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal. legends of rawk. it is about time music on vinyl gave them the start treatment. and we re starting with an album that was never before released on vinyl: purpendicular. the legendary band s 15th studio album was the first one they recorded with new guitarist steve morse, who pulled the band up to new heights and made this the most experimental deep purple album to date. there was more focus on the guitar, they used pinch harmonies, they sounded like they were having fun again, most famously so in vavoom: ted the mechanic based on a true story ian gillan once heard in a pub. the excellent riffs and awe-inspiring solos appear on two 180 grams audiophile vinyl lps, alongside the exclusive - and elusive - bonus track >dont hold your breath<.

tom giles previous twelve on modern soul saw him flex his muscles as a producer of sample-based wonky disco. this latest release, however, shows him stepping up to the challenge of crafting heavy boogie gems from scratch – with not a sample to be seen. the 12 inch kicks off with colour theory, a memorable mid-tempo number where crisp snares cracking between a lithe synth-line and a funk-bass backbone, featuring alex farrell of the london afrobeat collective on guitar. its a boogie daisy-cutter, packed, primed and ready for dropping on discerning dancefloors.

for alec koone, the 20 year old, pennsylvania resident, who was 19 and based in new york at the time of his first release, >wander / wonder< is a coming of age album that sees him expand upon the unique sound that attracted him so much attention to begin with. in koone s own words: it s an open ended album, and i think individuals should make their own meaning of it so that it is something actually real to them. it s not classical music, but in the tradition of a classical work like a bach cello suite, i see it as more of a whole musical piece with themes/motifs/ideas reoccurring throughout, connecting the tracks together as opposed to simply being a collection of songs that sit next to each other in isolation. it s also an album that should be listened to loudly. wander / wonder is a mysterious and genuinely haunting record that seems to exist in a world all of it s own making, balanced between the ecstatic wonder referenced in the title and something altogether more indefinable and uncertain of itself, like shards of light flickering through a blanket of fog, and even though wander / wonder is undeniably an electronic album, it feels strangely organic, rooted in nature, synthetic textures and distorted voices harmonizing with an ever present oceanic shimmer. wander / wonder was written and produced by alec koone in new york and pennsylvania. mixed by alec koone and sam haar (member of blondes) in new york city.

kowtons eps are the best possible fit for the devils workshop – they are not only deep, dark and warm, but also seductive and, at a pinch, sexy – just like the dark prince, or so i ve been told. perhaps i ve come under satans sway, but for me, both eps released so far on idle hands sound like someone whos been at it for much, much longer: this is a music knowledge which is anything but basic.

the twenty-seventh release on minimal wave is autumns >synthesize< lp, selections from the bands best material. autumn was the legendary project of peter bonne and geert coppens, two belgian teenagers who started experimenting with the potentials of analog synthesizers during the late 70s and formed a band together soon after in 1980, quickly becoming one of the most truly visionary groups to emerge from the synth scene in europe. a hand-numbered, limited edition pressing on 180 gram clear green vinyl housed in a heavy printed gloss jacket.

the zenker brothers grew up in munich, but in 1996 they moved to the countryside and their first adress outside of the bavarian capital was berg 10. shortly after that they got their first dog inti, he smelled like hell, but he was the loveliest dog you can imagine. although it was an intense change and not that easy at the beginning to move from a big city to a village with 5 houses, it was a really important experience for the brothers. and there was so much to discover: the beautiful mountains, lakes and forests, the local football team, the heavy bavarian accent and simply the different mentality on the countryside. all things they would never want to miss, but it was just a question of time to go back to the city. we are proud to present the first record from dario & marco. enjoy!

everything is in solution. no more here, no more when - the sounds loosing their way while creating something new and mysterious. waterkristallen is a transparent and absolute haunting track from arjuna schiks which will be released on einmusika records at the end of july. its a deep and tech influenced number with dizzying atmospheric parts and a lot of power on the other sight - its a dancefloor-number detached from the seasons. arjuna schiks was inspired by new age, meditation and world music, a hippie-child from amsterdam - that is what you can also hear in his productions one more day and my cup of tea. they are so strong and free - good vibes for your soul and precious diamonds for the clubs. once again einmusik is preparing the stage for a young and great producer and it is not supposed to be a short-time collab.

the release has been mastered by the highly regarded denis blackham of skye mastering and the audio quality is, as we wished, extremely high. the cutting is by mobineko - also excellent quality and not hyperloud. the 1950s influenced constructivist graphic design work is by lawrence clift.
